Around the House – Dried Flowers

Every Saturday morning and Thursday afternoon there is a Farmer’s Market in Chico, CA. Thursday nights cater more towards families with craft booths, lots of food, and some fresh fruits and veggies; Saturday mornings are all about the fresh fruits and veggies, even eggs and cheese. But one thing that permeates throughout both Farmer’s Markets are the beautiful wild flowers.

While at the market a few Saturdays ago my boyfriend bought me a bouquet and I let it grace the shelf by my desk for a whole week. When they started to wilt I took a few of the flowers, put them between some wax paper and underneath a flat heavy object. After about another week they were pressed and dried and dried and ready to be used on a card. This card is very simple and features liquid embossing, a Studio G sentiment, and machine stitching around the edge. It only took 20 minutes to make but has that special touch, perfect for a dear friend. Thanks for reading.
