First, let me say that I really enjoy writing this particular blog series every week. Not only do I like this series because I am using supplies that are always on hand, but it is inspiring me to be more creative than I ever thought! This week, I used staples on a card. Now, this is not the first time staples have been used in my card making; it is the first time that the staples are the embellishment at not the method used to adhere the embellishment to the card.
I have always preferred silver over gold. Most office supplies are standard in silver color, so they tend to match the color schemes for my cards. Maybe one day I will venture into the gold realm, but for now…staples are silver and will work just fine. As I have mentioned before my sister-in-law is having a baby boy in July (almost here!) and my brother asked if I could make her a Mommy to Be card for this mother’s day. This is what I came up with. Simple, but the staples really make it ‘baby chic.’
Think about staples in the shape of a flower, creating lines in an argyle pattern, or holding ribbon in place. Try out staples in your next card…I bet you like how it looks! Thanks for reading!
