BeaInspired – Family

This weekend a small chunk of my family (24 people) gathered at our home to celebrate the 80th birthday of Ma – my grandmother on my mom’s side. Everyone gathered to celebrate her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. You see Ma, she is the glue that holds this crazy family together.

Ma is an ultimate optimist, ever-loving, fireball of a woman. On a daily basis you can find Ma in her living room reading, in her kitchen cooking, or out in her garden. She has the kindest heart that I know, I think she gets that from her Mom, my Nannie. Another thing she got from Nannie, her love for the color red.

As I sat down to make a birthday card for Ma I wanted to incorporate some of these aspects. I really love the end product! The floral background and scalloped edging remind me of her beautiful garden. The color red will always remind me of Ma and Nannie. And just for her I added a little sparkle with a silver button!

How does your family inspire you in your creative efforts? We would love to hear about it in our comments. Thanks for reading!
